CAROLINE LESEMANN-ELLIOTT

Musical Director

Caroline Lesemann-Elliott (Conductor) is a final year Bachelor’s in Music student at the University of Edinburgh. She is from Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she received the majority of her musical education in viola and violin through the youth music programs at the University of Michigan, as well as through the Huron High School Performing Arts program. She first became interested in conducting through an elective course at the Indiana University Summer Music Clinic. After deciding to do an academic degree at the University of Edinburgh, rather than conservatoire, she recognised her true love for composition and conducting. Over the past year, she has conducted with the newly founded Information Services Group Choir, the choir of Greyfriars Kirk, assisted with the Dalkeith Singers, and conducted with the Edinburgh University Singers while they were on tour in Poland, alongside Dr. John Kitchen, MBE. She has also recently taken up the position of music director with New College Choir at the University of Edinburgh, as well as a conductor position with Dick Vets Musicians. In the past, she has studied conducting with Greg Batsleer and Russell Cowieson. Caroline also enjoys composing for choirs and orchestras, playing viola in various Edinburgh-based ensembles, and travelling to Oxford roughly once a month to visit her partner and other friends and colleagues.
